| The Adjunct Adult Education Instructor will provide instructional services to adults and youths who are out of school in basic skills such as reading, writing, and mathematics. Responsible for increasing the students' educational functioning level and preparing students to obtain their high school equivalency diploma and/or industry-based credentials (IBC) to secure entry-level employment or advance in their current occupation. This position requires proactive communication, timely and accurate service to internal and external partners, accountability for follow-up and follow-through, and a continuous improvement mindset aligned with LDCC's Standards of Practice for excellence, collaboration, and service. |

Additional responsibilities include assisting in the development of new programs, implementing quality initiatives for programs and services, and building strategic partnerships with business, industry, educational institutions, and regulatory agencies. Participates in integrated strategic, master, educational, and budget planning, and long-range instructional planning for the college. Works closely with all campus units to insure quality services on all campuses and sites. |

The instructor will provide specialized classroom instruction and practical shop experience to prepare for employment in automobile servicing and maintenance fields. Topics include safety, hand and power tools, jacks and hoisting equipment, diagnosis and repair of engines, fuel, electrical, cooling, and heating systems. Teaching objectives also include brake systems, drivetrain, and suspension systems.
