Job Title: Hodson Endowed Faculty in Entrepreneurship

Summary of Position:    Indiana Wesleyan University seeks applications for the Hodson Endowed Faculty in Entrepreneurship. This full-time faculty position within the DeVoe Division of Business in the College of Arts and Sciences carries responsibility for teaching, the development of creative partnerships with non-profit and for-profit organizations and businesses, faculty-student collaborative research, and the advising and mentoring of undergraduate majors on the residential Marion, Indiana campus. The ideal candidate should show evidence of personal faith in Jesus Christ, full agreement with the Wesleyan-Arminian theology, and commitment to liberal arts learning and the integration of Christian faith and learning.

The DeVoe Division of Business offers six major programs serving approximately 400 students. With seven full-time faculty members, the division is recognized for its outstanding record of preparing students through internships, co-curricular experiences, on-campus entrepreneurial learning opportunities, and the equipping of students to serve in business-in-mission (BAM) contexts.

Start date: Spring 2026 or Fall 2026, pending funding.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for a $10,000 annual budget intended to support activities associated with the position
  • Teach 6 credit hours each semester and pursue collaborative research projects with students, colleagues, and businesses within the local community, as well as overseeing student organizations and entrepreneurial events
  • Participate in committee and shared governance responsibilities, advise and mentor students, work with divisional colleagues to recruit students, and collaborate with peers and the division chair in curricular development
  • Develop partnerships with businesses and non-profit organizations, both locally and nationally, to serve the community and to provide research, service, and leadership opportunities for students

Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Education

  • Graduate degree in Entrepreneurship or related field
  • Terminal degree preferred

Experience

  • Teaching experience at the collegiate level is highly desirable

Required Skills

  • The recipient of the Hodson Endowed Faculty in Entrepreneurship will possess an outstanding record of teaching, scholarship, and service; graduate work in entrepreneurship preferred; effective organizational, interpersonal, and cross-cultural communication skills; a demonstrated understanding of culturally diverse approaches to business and entrepreneurship; and significant experiences in establishing new businesses
