The Neurohospitalist Division in the Department of Neurology at Stanford University seeks a board-certified neurologist to join the Department as a Clinical Assistant or Clinical Associate Professor in the Clinician Educator Line.

The major criterion for appointment in the Clinician Educator Line is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administrative and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. Academic rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

Qualifications
The successful applicant should have expertise in the evaluation and management of the breadth of acute neurological diseases (e.g. acute neuromuscular disease, seizures & status epilepticus, acute headache disorders, meningoencephalitis, rapidly progressive dementia, emergent neurologic complications of cancer and its treatments, neurologic complications of systemic disease, encephalopathy & delirium, etc) and a demonstrated commitment to teaching students, residents and fellows. Candidates must also have excellent communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively with other departments and disciplines. Necessary qualifications include ABPN certification or eligibility and eligibility for a California medical license.

Fellowship training as a neurohospitalist is highly desirable, although other subspecialty fellowship experience will also be considered provided the candidate has sufficient experience in an acute care neurology.

Responsibilities are expected to include serving as primary attending on our ward and consult teams with the potential to be involved in a post-discharge clinic and telemedicine. The faculty member will be expected to teach and mentor trainees at all levels and participate in our multidisciplinary care coordination and quality improvement activities. For qualified candidates, opportunities are available to participate in research, quality programs and development of innovative care programs.

Salary range
The expected base pay range for this position is:
Clinical Assistant Professor: $241,000 - $259,000
Clinical Associate Professor: $274,000 - $292,000

This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It may not include all components of faculty compensation or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs.
