The Department of Psychology at Stanford University is seeking applicants for a tenure track Assistant Professor position, with a research focus on affective science. The Stanford Psychology Department values transparency and openness in science and encourages candidates to provide in their research statement a description of how these values are reflected in their work to date and their future research plans. Applicants should describe in their statement their philosophy and preparation to teach courses and mentor students at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.

The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Psychology or in a related field and will be expected to teach and advise students at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.

  • curriculum vitae (including a bibliography/publication list)

  • a *single* document that combines your statement of research interests and teaching philosophy (no more than three single-spaced pages). Please use only one of the upload options (Statement of Research Interests or Statement of Teaching Interests) to submit this combined document.

  • copies of at most three scholarly papers

  • contact information for at least three letters of recommendations

The 9-month salary range for this position is $128,750-$139,050 for academic year 2026-2027.
