House Manager - NSW Newcastle, Maitland & Hunter, Sydney, Tamworth & North West NSW
Purpose of the Position The House Manager – NSW leads the daily running of an ITC household under the PSP contract. The role includes direct care with young people, staff support, household operations, and ensuring compliance with therapeutic, safety, and quality standards. The aim is to provide stable, trauma-informed care that supports healing and positive outcomes. Key Tasks: Deliver consistent, trauma-informed care in line with therapeutic and case plans. Implement behaviour, health, and placement support plans. Maintain safe routines, boundaries, and healing environments. Oversee timesheets, staff induction, and stakeholder liaison. Manage groceries, first aid, inventories, cash, audits, and property maintenance. Lead and support Residential Support Workers, model best practice, ensure secure belongings, and coordinate handovers. Foster a safe, reflective, accountable team culture. Ensure culturally safe and inclusive care. Comply with Child Safe Standards, PSP obligations, governance frameworks, WHS, safeguarding, and incident management. Maintain accurate, confidential records and adhere to statutory orders and conditions. Mandatory Requirements • Minimum diploma in Child, Youth, and Family Intervention (or equivalent) • Minimum 2 years of experience working with young people in residential or OOHC settings • Demonstrated understanding of the PSP, OCG 10 Essential Elements, and child protection legislation • Current First Aid Certificate • Current NSW Working With Children Check • National Criminal Record Check (or willingness to obtain) • Unrestricted NSW Driver’s License • Willingness to complete relevant therapeutic and leadership training Work Conditions • 36 hours per week face-to-face support • Additional 2 hours per week for household administration • Some weekend, evening, and public holiday work may be required • Participation in on-call or escalation rosters as required
