About the role:

Our 12-month Perioperative New Graduate Nurse Program provides a supportive and welcoming environment to help you transition from student to confident Perioperative Registered Nurse. Designed to nurture your professional growth, the program offers hands-on learning opportunities across all areas of perioperative nursing, including Scrub/Scout, PACU and Anaesthetics. Working within a collaborative perioperative team, you will feel encouraged, valued and supported throughout your graduate year.

As a graduate nurse within the perioperative environment, you will play an important role in delivering safe, patient-centred care throughout the surgical journey. You will develop the clinical knowledge, technical skills and confidence required to care for patients before, during and after surgical procedures, while contributing to positive patient outcomes and maintaining the highest standards of safety and care. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will learn the importance of communication, compassion and precision in providing holistic care to patients during vulnerable moments in their healthcare journey.

To be successful:

  • Eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), including meeting English language requirements.
  • Australian Citizenship or valid working rights permitting full-time employment in Australia without regional restrictions.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative and patient-centred approach to care.
  • Sound clinical knowledge, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a willingness to learn and grow within the perioperative environment.
  • Past experience in the perioperative environment through studies, placement or previous employment
  • Completion of a Bachelor of Nursing within 12 months of the program commencement date.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining professional, ethical and legal healthcare standards.
