The Opportunity

Level B Teaching Fellows are expected to make solid contributions to teaching and learning within their school. Teaching Fellows at this level may be appointed in recognition of distinction in their disciplinary area. The position is expected to engage in high-quality education and enhancing the student learning experience of the School. S/he will play a strong leadership role in educational innovation, curriculum design and review. S/he will make an outstanding contribution inside and outside of the University, and in engagement with the community and profession, notably in areas related to teaching and learning. 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead the development and delivery of innovative and excellent teaching, learning and assessment experiences for undergraduate and postgraduate students

  2. Contribute to the School in terms of education quality, OBE and accreditation matters

  3. Contribute to the curriculum development, innovation, enhancement and quality assurance in the undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum, especially during the off-semester periods

  4. Work closely with the School’s Education Management Office (EMO) for efficient education-related statistics gathering and student progress tracking, especially during the off-semester periods

  5. Contribute to the management of education and/or administration in the School, including coaching, mentorship, leadership and effective performance management, where relevant

  6. Contribute to academic service responsibilities, including contributing to outcomes of the discipline and/or school meetings and/or internal committees

  7. Contribute to the development of strong collaborations with other universities and with government, industry and/or civil society to drive excellence and impact of education and student experience

Key Selection Criteria:

Education/Qualifications

  1. A doctoral qualification (PhD) or equivalent

  2. A strong record of successful and innovative curriculum development

  3. An outstanding record of teaching which demonstrates a commitment to educational innovation

  4. Demonstrated skills and experience in collaboration and leadership

  5. Ability to promote the discipline internally within the university as well as externally, both nationally and internationally

  6. Eligible to register with the MBOT as a Professional Technologist

  7. Eligible to apply for a teaching permit with the Ministry of Education
