About the role:

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable officer to join our team based in our head office at Alexandria. Reporting to our Accounts Payable Manager, this role is responsible for processing invoices, updating creditor records, paying outstanding invoices, producing creditor reports and reconciling accounts. Other key responsibilities include processing credit card and employee expenses, month-end activities and general ledger reconciliations.

Key Accountabilities:

• Pay all creditors on negotiated payment terms, whether by cheque or EFT. 
• Pay local creditors and overseas suppliers for all branches. 
• Create new vendors and update bank details.
• Monitor the branches so that they are promptly and accurately processing all invoices 
• Communicate and resolve any issues relating to creditor invoices.
• Monthly review of Aged Creditors Listing, investigating all items over 60 days.
• Promptly address all creditor queries, keeping creditors informed of payment timing, issues etc.

What we are looking for:

• Previous experience in an accounts payable role or general accounting
• Exposure to using ERP systems & spreadsheets - SAP highly regarded
• Intermediate Excel (knowledge of pivot tables, vlookups etc.)
• High attention to detail and accuracy with numbers is essential
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service
• Strong time management and organisation skills
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a successful team
