This role is perfect for a dynamic, forward-thinking individual with expertise in artificial intelligence, augmented and virtual reality, motion graphics, video, and cutting-edge content creation. As a creative director with a strong foundation in technology, design, and concept development, you will guide the next generation of students to push the boundaries of what’s possible in advertising.

In the SCAD advertising program, students explore the full spectrum of the discipline — from art direction and copywriting to omnichannel brand marketing and strategic planning — using the latest creative technology. With access to unparalleled environments and tools, SCAD offers a leading-edge platform for students to launch careers at the intersection of technology and creativity in advertising and branding.

As a professor, you’ll teach the fundamentals of design and inspire students to innovate and experiment with emerging technologies. Your ability to simulate brand experiences that transcend the physical world will be crucial in helping students envision and create the future of branding. A deep understanding of advertising, branding, and interactive design and hands-on experience in professional-level visual art and design production are essential. You’ll bring advanced knowledge of the latest platforms and technologies, empowering students to navigate and influence the evolving landscape of advertising and branding.

Woven throughout Georgia’s First City, SCAD Savannah is a sprawling campus immersed in one of the largest National Historic Landmark Districts in the U.S. The city’s charming squares, richly preserved architecture, and storied history provide students, staff, and faculty alike a living laboratory to study art, architecture, and design.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Terminal degree in advertising, branding, computer art, or a related discipline
  • Professional background in creative technology, brand innovation, digital strategy, or emerging media
  • Strong portfolio of brand experiences, innovation, and technology-driven storytelling
  • A passion for preparing students to navigate an evolving creative landscape

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Knowledge in creative technology, brand innovation, consumer behavior, digital trends, social-first and motion content strategy
  • Proficiency with AI, AR/VR, spatial computing, digital transformation, interactive brand experiences, marketing, film, social media, and digital platforms

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:

  • Academic and professional credentials to teach advertising and branding

Travel required:  

  • Less than 10%
