As an assistant director of SCADhome, you will oversee and support a team of five live-in community directors and paraprofessional staff in the management of their assigned areas. You will lead regular staff meetings, evaluations, and employee file management. In collaboration with faculty and staff, you will create and conduct targeted student programming, training for all SCADhome staff, and the department’s community development plan. Through this development plan and related programming, you will enhance the residential experience through initiatives and partnerships that foster academic success and strengthen connections to SCAD and the broader community. You will also develop programs that promote retention and facilitate students' successful completion of their SCAD degrees.
In this position, you will coordinate resources to assist staff in their efforts, including electronic resources, print materials, and a university contact list. You will organize the event master calendar, liaise with various internal departments to promote SCADhome program initiatives, and participate in activities that require a SCADhome presence, such as residence hall openings and closings, recruitment and selection of staff, and other university-wide events. You will conduct biweekly staff meetings at all levels of the department and university, participate as an upper-level hearing and investigative officer for Title IX and the Code of Student Conduct issues, and manage the departmental budget. Among other duties, you will also serve in the on-call manager rotation to field student concerns.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in higher education, student development, counseling, or a related discipline
- At least three years of full-time, professional experience in residence life and housing or another group living environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least four years of full-time, live-in experience in residence life and housing

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
