As a full-time illustration professor, you will empower aspiring artists to cultivate their unique style and personal brand within a comprehensive program that investigates traditional and digital media. In this role, you will foster a positive and engaged classroom environment and join a faculty of award-winning authors, Random House book jacket illustrators, and more. Your expertise will enhance a department of D&D Yellow Pencil Award winners and artists whose client lists include Amazon, Apple, Houghton Mifflin, and Pepsi, to name a few.
In your role as a professor, you will fulfil teaching assignments based on the contact hours listed in the Employment Agreement, which includes the design, submission, and approval of syllabi; midterm grade reviews; and maintaining office hours in support of students’ success. You’ll offer extra help sessions, extended learning opportunities, and field trips, and guide students as they master the visual arts. You will plan and prepare courses, conduct program assessments, and ensure grades and documentation adhere to department and university requirements.
Among other responsibilities, you will also attend on-ground and virtual activities such as admission events, faculty councils, exhibitions, and more. You may also be asked to participate in curriculum assessment and development meetings, accreditation support, institutional effectiveness meetings, or other publicity assignments.
