As an academic operations manager, you will receive guidance from the senior director of academic operations and work closely with assigned academic departments to ensure they align with the university's mission, vision, strategic plan, and priorities. You will prepare research for and assist with high-profile events, provide quality assurance and editorial support for university reports, and support the recruitment process by participating in interviews and advising management on candidate suitability. Additionally, you will manage the use and presentation of assigned schools’ academic spaces for Operation 360, SCAD Days, and special events. You will also maintain a consistent, visible presence in the buildings of assigned departments.
In this role, you will oversee the mentor and invited guest programs, along with faculty-led workshops, faculty award initiatives, and other events. You will implement quality control processes to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness in daily operations within your assigned departments, especially concerning travel, event support requests, and school-based project management. Your responsibilities will include operations analysis, identification of areas for improvement, and the development of proposals for enhancements. Additionally, you will ensure adherence to university administrative policies and procedures, coordinate faculty observations, and participate in operational meetings.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong planning, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. They are an analytical person who pays close attention to detail and accuracy. Additionally, the candidate can multitask and meet deadlines.
Minimum qualifications:
- B.A. degree
- At least three years of relevant professional experience
- Expertise in relevant computer applications and databases

Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
