As a graduate success adviser, you will meet with an assigned caseload of students to help them with registration, academic procedures, and form completion. You will respond to questions about changes in location or majors, educational policies, financial aid, and studying abroad via phone and email. You will also record all student interactions in the database, monitor student enrollment statuses, and contact assigned students quarterly. Additionally, you will perform early and ongoing outreach to students identified by an early alert system regarding registration, five-year deadlines, ongoing thesis work, or financial aid reminders.
In this role, you will contact assigned students quarterly, respond to calls and emails from students, parents, and faculty or staff, and attend events — including thesis or final project presentations, graduate events, reviews, and orientations. Additionally, you will build relationships with department chairs and graduate coordinators to understand curriculum and support schedule planning. Among other duties, you will maintain a thorough understanding of SCAD's internal policies and procedures to ensure their effective enforcement among students. You will attend classes, thesis or final project presentations, graduate events, and reviews, or participate in orientations and graduation ceremonies.
The successful candidate will demonstrate exemplary organizational, computer, problem-solving, and communication skills. They must work well in a fast-paced environment, show adaptability and flexibility, and feel comfortable contacting students by phone.
