As a director of registrar technology, you will develop integrated, sustainable processes to ensure data accuracy and structural consistency between the curriculum management system and the registrar’s office. In partnership with the office of institutional research, you will validate data integrity and ensure reporting accuracy across the Banner system. Responsibilities include collaboration with curriculum management to implement approved CIP code changes that provide a seamless transition for students and oversight of curriculum audit reports for every major, minor, and catalog year within the SCAD Degree Planner. Among other duties, you will support the selection of course numbers and recommend subject code prefixes for new and revised curricula.

In this role, you will strategically manage Banner, Banner Self-Service, and SCAD Degree Planner to ensure regulatory compliance and data accuracy. You will also manage updates for Banner and secondary systems to verify that all processes are rigorously tested and functional. You will assess and optimize registrar technology services to enhance student satisfaction and operational efficiency. Additional responsibilities include acting as the primary office liaison with information technology (IT) to resolve technical or procedural challenges and recommending sustainable, systems-based solutions to improve the overall process of registrar services.

In this position, you will partner with IT to develop robust reports and data-driven insights derived from the degree audit system. You will establish quality-control reporting methods across the registrar’s office to support strategic decision-making. Among other duties, you will provide research, evidence, and documentation to ensure technological implementations remain aligned with university initiatives. Additionally, you will compile, summarize, and proof ad hoc statistical reports for data analysis using industry-standard software. The maintenance of strict confidentiality is necessary to ensure FERPA compliance and data integrity across all platforms. You will also provide requested documentation for accreditation and assessment activities.

As a director of registrar technology, you will train the assistant registrar and registrar technology team on related programming. You will review and standardize team documentation to ensure consistency across the department and assist with departmental planning and the submission of quarterly team process reports to leadership. Duties include maintenance of the registrar processes calendar to ensure all significant dates and deadlines are met and the timely submission of attendance records by faculty. You will also serve as the primary backup for term setup and end-of-term processing.

The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with an aptitude for directing large-scale projects from conception to completion. They possess supervisory and team-building experience, as well as the ability to adapt to new technologies. The candidate demonstrates expertise in written and verbal communication, including the ability to read and write complex technical guides and procedural documents. They are also well-organized and motivated with a superb attention to detail and accuracy.

Minimum qualifications:      

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Ellucian Banner, and Adobe Acrobat

Preferred qualifications:      

  • Master's degree
  • Previous experience in a university environment
  • Proficient in IBM Cognos and Ellucian Workflow and Degree Works
  • Report writing experience in Cognos Analytics

Travel required:  

  • Less than 10%

Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
