SCAD Atlanta seeks a highly skilled, part-time luxury and brand management professor to teach students in one of the following fields: fashion, travel and hospitality, beauty and fragrance, and watches and jewelry.
As a part-time luxury and brand management professor in the SCAD De Sole School of Business Innovation, you will guide students as they master new markets, technologies, and trends to become the next generation of leaders in the luxury industry. Your responsibilities will include modeling leadership and fulfilling teaching assignments as determined by the contact hours listed in the Employment Agreement, including syllabus design, submission, and approval; midterm grade reviews; and availability for office hours, extra help sessions, learning opportunities, and field trips.
In this role, you will conduct course and program assessments, meet grading and academic documentation requirements, and record attendance for each class per academic policies and regulations. You will support academic assessment and institutional effectiveness efforts by contributing to the university’s mission, vision, values, and strategic goals. You will attend on-ground and virtual activities such as admission events, faculty councils, exhibitions, and more. Among other duties, you may participate in curriculum assessment and development meetings, accreditation support, institutional effectiveness meetings, or other publicity assignments. The person in this role must adhere to all university policies.
A part-time professor is not guaranteed a specific number or title of any course(s). Assignments for classes are on an as-needed basis.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Terminal degree (or equivalent) in the discipline or in a relevant field
- Academic and professional credentials to teach in the discipline
- Two years of work experience in a related profession or post-secondary teaching experience
Preferred Qualifications:
· At least 8 years of experience in one or more of the following sectors: fashion, luxury travel/hospitality/lifestyle services, watches and jewelry, beauty and fragrance.
