As the safety officer, you will patrol assigned areas to ensure personal, building, and equipment security by examining doors, windows, and gates with university keys to open and close them. In this role you will monitor closed buildings for unauthorized persons and/or suspicious activities; provide escort services for visitors, students, staff, and faculty; and provide public assistance, such as lockout services, jump-starts, transportation with a university vehicle, and routine information. University Safety Field Operations Manager

As the operations manager, you will collaborate, engage with, and oversee six to 10 trained safety officers operating in different assignments related to foot patrols, vehicular patrols, static posts assignments, and bicycle patrols within the SCAD Savannah geography. In this role you will identify and utilize best practices to implement innovative methods of all-encompassing safety and security services for the highest level of service to SCAD and will refine the standards related to the establishment of the internal university safety patrol program to promote job knowledge and enhance SCAD’s visions and commitments.
Responsibilities in this position include driving the active engagement of all internal and external stakeholders, conferring with management level university personnel and law enforcement officials on operational and policy matters, and leveraging personal job knowledge related to planning and oversight of special events at the Savannah location. You will be expected to continually improve efforts related to the development, maintenance, and implementation of evolving crime prevention programs and to engage with all levels of law enforcement in the exchange and conveyance of information during criminal investigations and for real-time assessments to determine appropriate staffing and resource deployment.
Minimum Qualifications:
• At least four years of security, military, or law enforcement experience and at least two years of management experience
• Extensive experience in development and establishment of patrol and staffing programs focusing on training, building extensive job knowledge and skills, customer service, and safety best practices to provide exemplary service deliverables to the university community and guests
• Possess a strong demonstrated job-based knowledge
Preferred Qualifications:
University specific experience with the relevant compliance requirements of the Clery Act, the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), and Title IX
Certification in the process of conducting threat assessments
Certification in the process of conducting special event assessments

As the threat manager, you will perform a variety of statistical and analytical research, data collection, and report preparation activities to support the university’s crime and threat reduction and prevention strategies. As the director of operations and quality, you will oversee the daily operations of groundskeeping and housekeeping. You will maintain all building fire systems, EPA compliances related to handling and disposing of hazardous materials, and careful record-keeping.
In this role, you will be the primary contact for facility-related issues and communications, collaborating with internal departments to understand and address needs. You will prepare and present reports on facility performances and initiatives to management. You will also prepare and manage facility budgets, forecasts and capital expenditures, and monitor and control costs throughout the year. As part of your efforts to control costs, you will negotiate contracts and manage relationships with vendors/service providers.
The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in budgeting, financial management, and contract negotiation. You will also have a strong knowledge of facility management principles, best practices, safety regulations, and compliance requirements. Excellent leadership, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal and team management skills are necessary to succeed in this position.
