Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Department of Social Work at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for a Assistant Professor. Applicants must have an earned Master of Social Work from a CSWE-accredited institution at the time of appointment. The position begins in August 2025.

This position serves courses in the Social Work program. It requires at least five years post-MSW social work practice experience. The successful candidate will teach on-campus courses (with the possibility of on-line teaching) in the BSW and MSW programs in a full-time annual teaching load. Experience with practicum direction and coordination is required, as well as experience with Tevera Field Management Software. The successful candidate will assume BSW Practicum direction and supervision of MSW students in field placements.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Earned Master of Social Work from a CSWE-accredited institution at the time of appointment.

Experience:

Experience teaching and coordinating BSW level field practice. Experience with Tevera Field Management Software.
• Minimum of five years post-MSW social work practice experience.
• Knowledge of current practices in professional communication and social media
• Effective interpersonal communication skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Analytic and problems solving skills
