Job Summary/Basic Functions
The primary responsibility of the Assistant Director of Scholarships and State Aid is to assess and award Institutional Merit and Foundation Scholarships. The position oversees the process of awarding tuition waivers to include graduate assistants, foster/adopted, supervising teachers, police/firefighter memorial, state employee waiver, academic common market, Berea college collaborative, EKU employee and employee dependent tuition waivers, medical technology waiver, public postsecondary waiver, KDVA waivers, and Fayette county ESL course coverage. coordinate the awarding, reconciliation, and monitoring EKU university and state scholarship/grant programs. This position provides support to Big E Central staff to communicate appropriate scholarship information to students and families.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree is required.
Experience: Two years of related experience required.

Job Duties:
- 55% - Maintains and awards all tiers of Institutional Merit scholarship funds for EKU. Responsible for maintaining and awarding Foundation funds that are allocated to Enrollment Management. - (Essential)
- 15% - Oversees the State Aid and Scholarships Coordinator to ensure awarding tuition waivers (graduate assistants, foster/adopted, supervising teachers, police/firefighter memorial, state employee waiver, KDVA waivers) is both compliant and efficient. - (Essential)
- 10% - Ensures that student resources and other aid funds are appropriately reported and that financial aid is packaged within the appropriate budget. - (Essential)
- 10% - Manages institutional and state funded scholarship programs. (supervises the State Aid and Scholarship Coordinator, maintains accuracy and updates of the scholarship web pages, and ensures the Scholarship Office is operating in compliance with Institutional, State, and Federal regulations). - (Essential)
- 5% - Awards outside agency scholarships, oversees the authorization of third party funds to student accounts. - (Essential)
- 5% - Provides support to Big E Central staff to communicate appropriate scholarship information to students and families and other duties as assigned- assisting Financial Aid office operations. - (Essential)
