Job Summary/Basic Functions

The following duties are customary for this position but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs.

• Assist the Marketing staff in the development, coordination and implementation of marketing, promotional and fan experience efforts for all sports, and any specific sport or event assigned.
• Assist with and develop a full-scale fan experience and marketing plans for assigned sports as primary and secondary contacts.
• Assist with the operation of the Pet Club. This includes coordinating and overseeing membership initiatives, and membership events throughout the year.
• Will meet directly with coaches and their staffs to plan and implement the marketing plan for each respective team. Additionally, will serve as the on-court director for selected sports.
• Assist with managing PA announcers, coordinating music, video board elements, cheer squad, pep band, and other marketing needs to direct the flow of games, events and promotions with the objective of creating an environment conducive to fan engagement.
• Oversee select special events such as Fan Days, Season Ticket Holder events, On-Campus Student Initiatives, Student Appreciation events, community events and much more.
• Create an electric atmosphere at all home events through the use of games, giveaways, contests, trivia, music and more. Bring new ideas to the table and come up with further ways to engage and inform our fans.
• Promote athletic events and communicate promotions throughout campus and the local community.
• Assist in managing community outreach efforts and coordinating summer events.
• Assist the Assistant Director of Marketing in the management of the day-to-day duties of the student internship program.

Education: Must be enrolled in EKU's Graduate School

Job Duties:

  • 40% - Implement and Execute Marketing Plans • Follow and hit deadlines within current marketing plan to allow Athletics the best opportunity to succeed and increase attendance numbers significantly - (Essential)
  • 30% - Game Day Operations Support • Support marketing efforts during the game day experience for all home sports - (Essential)
  • 25% - Digital and Creative Content • Understand trends within the digital and creative space and apply them to EKU Athletics - (Essential)
  • 5% - • Supports the office functions by completing all other duties assigned. - (Essential)
