Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Department of Mathematics & Statistics at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for a 1-Year DUAL Credit Lecturer of Mathematics, beginning August 2025. This is a non-tenure-track 1-year position with possible options to renew on an as-needed basis. EKU Dual Credit is a dual-enrollment program for eligible high school juniors and seniors that offers the opportunity to take college-level courses for high school credit and college credit.

Applicants should hold minimum of an earned Master’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematical Sciences, Statistics, or a closely related field (with a minimum of 18 hours graduate-level work in Mathematics) from an accredited institution at the time of appointment.

This position serves general education and Mathematics majors. Courses may be taught in-person and/or online. The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills with high school/undergraduate students and the university community.

This one-year lectureship position is primarily for teaching dual credit courses but may be asked to teach traditional undergraduate courses as needed to meet a full-time instructional workload. Appointments shall consist primarily of teaching responsibilities but may, as needed, include service, research, or administrative responsibilities for an equivalent of a 5-5 fall and spring semester load.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Applicants should hold minimum of an earned Master’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematical Sciences, Statistics, or a closely related field (with a minimum of 18 hours graduate-level work in Mathematics) from an accredited institution at the time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A minimum of two (2) years experience teaching at the college or university level;
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience teaching online courses.
• A minimum of two (2) years experience working with learning management systems.

Job Duties:

  • % - Maintain a 15-hour per semester teaching load, teaching courses as assigned at the times and in the locations necessary to meet the needs of EKU students. - (Essential)
