Job Summary/Basic Functions

The primary responsibility of the State Aid & Scholarships Coordinator is to coordinate the awarding, reconciliation, and monitoring EKU university and state scholarship/grant programs. This position will handle day to day operation of all matters relating to awarding, monitoring, and reconciliation of all state programs, and compliance with state and institutional policies. The Scholarships and State Aid Coordinator will use various types of technology to create necessary reports to balance, reconcile and award university and state and institutional aid in the most efficient manner. This position will act as the liaison between KHEAA and other entities on state matters related to assigned state scholarships/programs. The State Aid and Scholarship Coordinator will keep up to date with the latest state regulations and advise students and parents about all financial aid possibilities and awards other state related aid.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree is required.
Master's degree is preferred.

Experience: Two years of directly related experience.

Job Duties:

  • 55% - Acts as liaison for State Funding through KHEAA. - (Essential)
  • 15% - Helps to maintain operations of the Scholarship office to include running daily, weekly, monthly, semesterly, and yearly audits to monitor scholarships, state mandated tuition waivers, third party (outside funding sources), etc. - (Essential)
  • 15% - Oversees and applies tuition waivers (graduate assistants, foster/adopted, supervising teachers, police/firefighter memorial, state employee waiver). - (Essential)
  • 15% - Managing military funds to include requesting funding for KY National Guard state tuition assistance, applying funding to student's accounts. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Other duties as assigned- assisting Financial Aid office operations. - (Essential)
