Job Summary/Basic Functions
The Director of Residence Life is responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the EKU Housing Residence Life program. They provide leadership for developing an effective community and student development program within EKU’s 12 residence halls which can house approximately 4,900 students.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Master’s Degree is required.
Experience: Three years’ related work experience is required.

Job Duties:
- 45% - The Director of Residence Life is responsible for strategic planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of the EKU Housing & Residence Life program to ensure alignment with institutional goals and student success initiatives. • Provide leadership, vision, and strategic goals for Residence Life. • Provide leadership for the ongoing evaluation of services and programs within the residence halls • Directly supervise, train, and evaluate three Associate Directors; provide indirect supervision to 12 Residence Hall Coordinators, eight Graduate Assistants, Resident Advisors, and Hall Desk Staff - (Essential)
- 25% - Responsible for Residence Hall Crisis Management Protocols • Reviews departmental procedures for crisis management within the residence halls including updating all Emergency Management Plans for all residence halls • Provide consultation outside normal working hours for emergency crisis situations which occur in the residence halls (i.e., suicide attempts, sexual assaults, burglary, assault, major or minor disturbances within halls, racial confrontations, drug related problems, etc.), while consulting with and notifying appropriate university officials; coordinate departmental crisis response duty schedule. - (Essential)
- 10% - Oversees all employee operations within Residence Life which includes: • Supervises all personnel actions and records • Provides leadership in the hiring of professional Residence Life staff and assist with all processes related to the recruitment, training, and professional development of Residence Life staff at all levels. • Provides leadership in the areas of staff dynamics, development, conflict resolution, and performance plans. - (Essential)
- 10% - Develops and manages Residence Life budgets • Manages Residence Life budgets • Assists in developing overall Housing & Residence Life budget - (Essential)
- 5% - Responsible for assessment and strategic planning for Residence Life. • Maintains and analyzes records for student participation levels. • Provides leadership in developing and assessing learning outcomes for programs and activities, including those within GPC and LLC programing. • Ensures compliance of CAS Standards for Residence Life. • Facilitate and asses residential surveys as warranted. - (Essential)
- 5% - Ensures the effective operation of Residence Life by completing other duties as required. • Provides leadership during key operational periods such as openings, closings, and breaks. • Serves as a resource to students, faculty and staff. • May represent the EKU Housing at EKU Spotlight Days, EKU Recruiting Receptions, and EKU New Student Orientation as well as many university committees. • Assist in the facilitation of evening and weekend programs. - (Essential)
