Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Coordinator of Fitness will provide strategic oversight, creative support, and supervision to the department’s efforts toward encouraging holistic wellbeing. This position is designed to promote the benefits of movement and exercise, and to provide programming designed to enable the campus community to pursue movement in a variety of fitness modalities. This is done successfully by demonstrating the department’s values through inviting and engaging recreational opportunities that are targeted toward students primarily and the campus/public secondarily.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field is required.

Experience: One year of related work experience is required. Experience in a higher education setting is preferred.

Licensure & Certifications: Appropriate Group Exercise and Personal Training certification from at least one of the following is required: ACE, AFAA, ACSM, NSCA, CSCS
CPR, FA, AED Certification, (Instructor Preferred)

Preferred Qualifications:

 

Job Duties:

  • 60% - Oversee the design, implementation, management, evaluation, delivery, and expansion of assigned Campus recreations programs including: group fitness programming, personal training services, and fitness events - (Essential)
  • 25% - Oversee the onboarding, supervision, and development of part-time and student employees. - (Essential)
  • 5% - Coordinate the consistent processing of participant functions including member enrollment procedures, registration processes, assessment evaluation and metrics, and financial tracking. - (Essential)
  • 5% - Plan, budget, and evaluate the operation and maintenance of the group and individual exercise equipment inventory. - (Essential)
  • 5% - Supports the office functions by completing all other duties and special projects as assigned. - (Essential)
