Job Summary
The purpose of an Automotive Technology Instructor is to prepare students for successful careers in the automotive industry by providing high-quality technical instruction, hands-on training, and professional guidance.

Job Duties:
Provide classroom and laboratory instruction in automotive systems such as:
- Engine repair and performance
- Braking systems
- Steering and suspension
- Electrical and electronic systems
- HVAC systems
- Automatic and manual transmissions
- Instruction should align with industry standards ( ASE guidelines) and current automotive technologies.
Ensure students gain practical, real-world experience through:
- Shop-based lab activities
- Diagnostic procedures
- Use of industry standard tools and equipment
- Safety practices and OSHA compliance
Prepare students for employment by:
- Teaching professionalism, work ethic, and teamwork
- Emphasizing customer service skills
- Preparing students for ASE certification exams
- Assisting with internships, co-ops, and job placement opportunities

Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree or higher in Automotive Technology or related field AND 3 years related work experience AND appropriate current certifications/licenses required for the course.
OR
- a minimum of 5 years work experience in the field AND appropriate current certifications/licenses required for the course.

Preferred Qualifications:
- ASE Advanced Level Specialist certification
