Job Duties
The Special Registration Technician processes specialized license plate applications, manages decal and plate inventory, reconciles financial transactions, and resolves Highway Use Fee disputes. This role ensures compliance with DMV policies, coordinates workflow with team members, and responds to customer inquiries and escalations. By maintaining operational accuracy and efficiency, the technician directly supports DMV’s mission of providing exceptional customer service and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Minimum Qualifications
• Knowledge of DMV systems, specialized registration processes, and inventory management tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage high-volume processing.
Additional Considerations
• Familiarity with state regulations for license plate issuance, inventory management, and financial reconciliation.

• Experience in DMV operations or vehicle registration processing.
• Background Check: Must pass a fingerprint-based background check.
• Licensure: Must possess a valid driver’s license with no higher than -6 demerit points and no major convictions.
