Job Duties

The Accounting Manager- A incumbent will be a member of the Office of Financial Management team responsible for managing professional accounting work of considerable difficulty in the operation of the general accounting division of the agency's fiscal office. Major duties include: reconciliations and compliance, preparing management reports; resolving accounting errors; continuous review of accounting systems and recommendations for improvements; ensuring accurate and prompt distribution of central billings; and assessment of workloads and staffing assignments. Provides supervision of senior fiscal professional(s), technicians, and support personnel.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum KSAs:
• Experience and knowledge of governmental accounting principles, policies, procedures, and standards
• Knowledge of state and federal grant financial management and reporting requirements
• Knowledge of federal cash management requirements
• Knowledge and experience with reconciliation processes
• Experience serving in a supervisory capacity, providing performance management and development of staff
• Ability to interpret regulations, policies, and procedures, and develop and implement changes and new processes into operational         functions
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access and Word, and experience using database applications

Additional Considerations

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
