Office Location:              TCAT – McMinnville Main Campus, 241 Vo Tech Dr., McMinnville, TN 37110

Hours:                              7:30 am-4:00 pm, Monday through Friday, or as needed to fulfill duties of the position.

Supervises:                     None

Salary:                              $39,117 - $46,940 depending on experience

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Technical diploma or Associate’s degree.
  • Minimum of four years of full-time related experience; customer service experience preferred.  
  • Must possess the communication skills necessary to effectively interact with the public and employees at all levels.  
  • Intermediate computer skills with knowledge of MS Office applications.  
  • Ability to tactfully communicate with the public and employees at all levels.  
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality as it relates to the financial information, employee information, student records, student financial aid, and any other.  
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced office environment. 
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects at once with minimal direct supervision. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Cashiering experience including preparing cash deposits and balancing daily transactions.
  • Human resources experience.
  • Working knowledge of Ellucian Banner.

 

General Duties:

The Fiscal Services Assistant reports to the Fiscal Services Coordinator and is responsible for a broad range of tasks in a fast-paced office setting.  This position serves as the Human Resources Representative and business office/facilities support.

 

Key Responsibilities – Essential Job Functions

  • Performing primary cashier duties including accepting payments, posting payments to student accounts, and making daily deposits.
  • Processing accounts payable for the institution.
  • Prepare travel authorizations.
  • Purchasing and travel card management.
  • Purchasing and receiving, including notifying the appropriate people that their order is ready to be picked up. 
  • Generating and applying asset tags to new equipment, maintaining and updating the equipment spreadsheet, and assisting with yearly inventory of equipment.
  • Various duties for the day-to-day operations of the business office and campus facilities.
  • Serves as the Affirmative Action Officer for the college.
  • Responsible for employee recruiting, hiring process, and onboarding, and exiting of employees.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement professional development opportunities for employees.
  • Implement and manage employee wellbeing and engagement programs.
  • Coordinate annual employee evaluation process.
  • Assist in public relations and recruiting for the institution.
  • Serves as the point person for the annual State of Tennessee Giving Campaign.
  • Maintaining all required personnel and human resources functions to meet federal and state agencies, and accreditation agencies guidelines.
  • Assisting employees with HR related questions.
  • Managing fleet vehicles.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Background checks will be completed on all new hires, which will include the following: Sex Offender Registry, County Criminal &Federal Criminal.

 

Physical Demands and Working Conditions (ADA REQUIREMENTS)

Walking, climbing, bending and stooping. Work performed in office, testing center and classroom environments. Position requires the use of a computer.

Sedentary Work – Walking or standing to a significant degree; sitting for brief periods of time; be able to bend and stoop; use body members (arms, hands, fingers).

 

SALARY: Commensurate with experience, education and training according to Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology salary guidelines.
