Title: Director of High School Initiatives
Job Summary
This position is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing all early post-secondary opportunities for Jackson State Community College. This position manages all aspects of the dual enrollment and middle college program by establishing and maintaining partnerships with K-12 school districts in the Jackson State’s 10 county service area.
Job Duties
• Facilitate the implementation of initiatives and strategies related to dual enrollment and middle college.
• Work collaboratively with high school administration to develop the academic schedules
• Work with the academic deans to provide dual enrollment courses, including instructor staffing
• Develop and coordinate marketing, recruiting and outreach activities to enhance knowledge of and participation in dual enrollment and middle college programs.
• Provides orientations and support for new instructors, students, and parents
• Administer the Dual Enrollment and Middle College Scholarships
• Work collaboratively with Campus Directors to coordinate all early post-secondary opportunities in their service areas
• Work closely with admissions, financial aid, and business office to facilitate dual admissions, student support, and payments
• Serve as liaison between area school systems, high school administration, counselors, teachers, and parents
• Coordinate academic resources for students and track their academic progress
• Assist with the transition of dual enrollment students matriculating to Jackson State
• Develop and maintain Memoranda of Understanding with area school systems
• Work collaboratively with Middle College administration to provide course schedule planning and student advising
• Related duties as assigned
• Maintain digital records appropriate to the Academic Affairs unit.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 2 years' experience working in higher education with high school partnerships
• Experience with administering the Dual Enrollment/Middle College grant
Preferred Qualifications
• Master's degree from an accredited institution
• Two (2) or more years of community college experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Technology Skills: Banner, MS Office skills, Word, Excel, Outlook; videoconferencing software; digital records management systems; general operating systems and data information systems
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with diverse individuals
• Time management and organizational skills to meet planning and other assigned deadlines
Physical Demands / Working Conditions
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Prolonged periods of standing at times
- Prolonged screen time
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
- Repetitive Movement
Pay Rate: $63,853 - $79,815 (Annual salary depending on eligible experience, which is defined by the current compensation plan.)
