Job Summary

This is a full-time position in the division of Administrative Services (Police Services, Risk Management, Physical Plant (Facilities) and Information Technology Services). Under general supervision, this position will assist the Chief of Administrative Services. This position will be responsible for the procurement and licensing of IT hardware and software.

This position will participate in division strategic planning and oversee the strategic planning and the business continuity systems for Administrative Services. This position will develop and maintain division reports which will include unit metrics and budget. This position will supervise student support personnel.

Job Duties

  • Plans, develops, and coordinates Administrative Services projects and other initiative geared to increasing the use of technology.
  • Oversees and administers Strategic Planning system for Administrative Services
  • Procures equipment and accessories for the college.
  • Procures IT software and ensures software license compliance.
  • Composes routine and non-routine correspondences independently. Maintains contact for the supervisor with public and private professional person and other officials.
  • Research policies, procedures and guidelines for supervisor and staff. Maintains and monitors budget expenditures. Develops and maintains personnel, financial, statistical and other important reports.
  • Plans for appointments, travel conferences, special events and other activities.
  • Prepares and distributes various unit communications including general correspondences, monthly metric reports and college-wide notifications
  • Supervises student support personnel which typically includes recommendations for hiring, firing, performance evaluation, training, work allocation, and problem resolution.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the Chief of Administrative Services.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
    • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
  • At least three (3) years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in an ever-growing community.
  • Ability to determine informational needs, to collect and analyze information, and to devise and develop statistical analyses and reports.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Advanced writing and editing skills.
  • Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals.
  • Project management and administrative skills.
  • Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures
  • Knowledge of modern office practices.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Employee development and performance management skills.
