The Academic Navigator (12-month position) supports students in college-level gateway English courses throughout the academic year (fall, spring, summer), in all modalities by providing personalized assistance and facilitating active learning to help students reach their educational goals. The Academic Navigator works with students in a variety of tutoring and academic support settings, such as individual or group sessions or in virtual environments, to enhance students’ understanding of the material and help students develop study skills and strategies. The Navigator assists in creating a collaborative learning environment by working with faculty in the discipline area to determine concept and skill areas of highest need, monitoring student progress, and providing feedback to both students and faculty to improve overall academic performance. The Navigator will also participate in student success initiatives related to academic readiness, placement, and preparation. |
