The Mental Health Counselor develops, promotes, and facilitates mental health and social service activities that support students in managing barriers that will impede their educational success. This position blends collaboration and consultation with colleagues on and off campus, as well as other support resources with non-clinical and clinical student case management, short-term counseling, program coordination, systems development, and leadership in addressing factors that contribute to student attrition and improve student success.
This position will primarily serve the Williamson Campus with occasional travel to other Columbia State campuses and counties in the service area. |

The overall purpose of this position is to assist the Vice President of Academic Affairs in supporting the vision of Academic Affairs to advance academic excellence within the College. In alignment with the Office of the Vice President of Academic Affairs and the mission and vision of the institution, this role will advance the development, review, and assessment of all academic student pathway and success strategies at the College. This involves supporting the development of educational partnerships with K-12 and university partners, internal academic student success and engagement strategies, including oversight of academic advising, the development, implementation and internal oversight of pathway curriculum for dual credit, dual enrollment, transfer and articulation, prior learning assessment, internships, and cohorts. As a designee of the Vice President of Academic Affairs, this position will manage issues of academic student misconduct and academic grant oversight. This position works in partnership with the Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs for Program Implementation Strategies, participates in the Academic Affairs senior leadership as a member of the Academic Leadership Team, and partners with campus leaders across divisions to meet the needs of students, faculty, and the college. |
