Position Summary

THIS IS A PART-TIME, CONTRACTUAL POSITION. The head coach, women's golf, is responsible for the leadership and growth of the women's golf program to include the instruction of student-athletes through development of practice and match plans. The head coach will recruit, maintain, and support academic success and completion of all AACC women's golfers in coordination with the athletic department. The head coach is responsible for managing and coordinating practices and competitions and must attend all regular season and postseason matches. The regular season is Spring, with recruitment expectations and student-athlete support beginning in the fall. A fall non-traditional practice season is permissible. A Fall contract with one faculty load hour and a Spring contract with four faculty load hours will be provided.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

- Instruct student-athletes on the game of golf with a focus on development and skill retention.
- Responsible for the recruitment of players to AACC and engagement with current students to increase interest.
- Retention of student-athletes from Fall to Spring and through completion unless four-year transfer is possible.
- Assist with scheduling games and tournaments. Maintain relationships with golf courses to ensure continued use of courses.
- Provide assistance to the Student-Athlete Success Coordinator in the areas of academic progress monitoring, retention of current student-athletes and advancing graduating student-athletes.
- Hiring and supervision of assistant coaches in conjunction with the Director of Athletics.
- Responsible for the management, administration and reconciliation of college funds.
- Supervision of team when traveling for athletic contests.
- Assist Sports Medicine staff in the care and prevention, and strength and conditioning of student-athletes by ensuring safety measures are in place.
- Manage social media accounts, in compliance with all AACC and NJCAA standards, to engage and promote the sport in conjunction with the Assistant Director, Athletic Communications.
- Strive for the development of student-athletes and AACC Women's Golf through sport expertise and program success.
- Assist with the eligibility compliance of student-athletes.
- Responsible for the management of scholarships for women's golf, including planning, management, executing and adherence to NJCAA Letter of Intent and recruitment regulations

Required Qualifications:

- Applicants must have at least three (3) years of high-level coaching experience (high school, college, high-level club).
- Must be familiar with PGA Golf rules.
- Experience with recruitment of players and academic supervision required.
- Knowledge of the National Junior College Athletic Association preferred.
- Applicants must have a High School Diploma, Associates Degree preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

An associate degree is preferred.
