To provide leadership in Academic Affairs maintaining adherence to health and safety standards and compliance with applicable environmental regulations set by local, state, and federal organizations. Develop and administer training programs for safety procedures and for compliance with environmental regulations appropriate for faculty, staff, and students participating in health science programs, laboratory courses, laboratory research, and art studio courses that utilize chemicals, biologicals, or radiation. Coordinate storage and regular removal of biohazardous and hazardous waste from academic spaces. Work with academic departments and programs to maintain current inventories of chemicals and maintain a current list of SDSs and locations of chemicals in academic spaces on campus and distribute to units that utilize or store chemicals and make it electronically available to the EU community for use in case of emergency. Represent the University during inspections of academic spaces utilizing chemicals, biologicals, or radiation. Work in collaboration with Environmental Health and Safety position in Facilities Management. |
Assistant Director of Learning Design and Support

Lead the Learning Design and Support Team. Supervise a team of approximately 6 direct reports (full-time staff who are instructional technologists, designer/developer, video producer) and indirectly oversee 15 student staff. Provide leadership and guidance in the daily operations, mission, and vision of the team. Promote a culture of continual growth and professional development. Help staff achieve their career goals, including assigning work which leverages their skills and capabilities and provides them with opportunities for learning. Evaluate staff performance. Facilitate strong communication and information sharing. Lead staff in the understanding of university, division, and departmental priorities and objectives. Empower the team and pave the way for successful work by developing strategic partnerships, addressing challenges, and reducing barriers. Manage a budget, effectively use existing resources, and advocate for additional resources to ensure delivery and advancement of services. Establish sustainable IT support models for new service offerings. Develop and maintain a sense of confidence and trust in technology support internal to the department and external throughout the university community. Advance instructional technologies, productivity tools, and creative elements by providing leadership to the staff, building cross-campus partnerships, and overseeing efforts focused on the use of instructional technology, productivity tools, and creative elements across a broad range of academic and administrative programs and initiatives that align with university mission, strategic priorities, and initiatives. Staff development efforts with a focus on the effective use of technology (in partnership with the Office of Leadership and Professional Development). Facilitate TLT cross-team collaboration and project management. Serve as an active team member of the TLT Leadership Team and the IT Leadership Team. Collaborate with other TLT Leaders and staff to ensure strong communication, transparency, information sharing, effective teamwork and synergy between staff, and the successful utilization of skill sets across the department to serve our mission and vision. Facilitate TLT staff meetings, rotating responsibilities with other leaders. Key partnerships include the Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning, academic department chairs, the Registrar’s Office, the Office of Professional and Continuing Studies, Human Resources, the Office of Leadership and Professional Development, the Student Professional Development Center, and University Communications. Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration (within IT and throughout the university) to implement technology solutions to serve the mission and support university initiatives. Build and sustain vendor relationships, including with the LMS provider, LinkedIn Learning, Microsoft, contract services’ providers, and others. |
Associate Director of Student Involvement

As a member of the Division of Student Life and the Student Involvement team, the Associate Director of Student Involvement leads efforts to engage students in meaningful campus involvement. This position supports student success by mentoring and coaching them through the development of rich relationships. This associate director works directly with student leaders and collaborates with others across the university to provide community and leadership development opportunities that enhance the student experience and advance the department’s strategic plans. As a leader within the Student Involvement team, the associate director is responsible for serving as an active member of the staff in presence and in communication, maintaining a high level of professionalism, and completing various administrative tasks that support the daily operations of the department. |
Assistant Director of Career Services for Student Athletes

We are excited to welcome a new member to the SPDC in a role dedicated to working with student athletes. This position acts as the liaison between the SPDC and Athletics, working closely with staff in both departments to assure that services rendered are meeting the needs of student-athletes across Elon University. The position will provide one-on-one career advising/coaching for all Elon student-athletes, engage with employers to identify internships and full-time job opportunities, assist in the planning and execution of
SPDC career programs and events, and create and manage athlete-specific career development programs. In addition, this position is responsible for tracking student-athlete job and internship placement, regularly synthesizing and communicating that information to the Assistant Vice President of the SPDC and the Athletic Director. |
The Center for Access and Success Coordinator for Well-Being

The Center for Access and Success (CAS) is seeking a committed and experienced Well-Being Specialist to offer intentional support for underrepresented PK-12 students and their families, as well as college-aged students enrolled in academically rigorous programs. This position requires expertise in working with the holistic well-being of students from diverse populations and developing innovative programs connected to the community, emotional, financial, physical, purpose, social, and mental well-being dimensions. Reporting to the Director of the Elon Academy, approximately 80% of the work will be for the Elon Academy (EA) program with 20% of the work for the Odyssey Program, First Generation Student Support Services, It Takes a Village, and Beyond 12 programs, collectively. This position will be a two-year time-limited role (through May 2027) and may be continued dependent on available funding. |
