Purpose of Position
This is a part-time, non-benefitted position. This position is to serve as a Flight Instructor - Airplane, providing flight instruction to students enrolled in aviation academic courses with fligh tlabs at the University of North Dakota. A valid Flight Instructor Airplane Certificate and medical must be held to apply.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The following are the required duties and responsibilities for this position:
- Provide highest quality of flight training to students.
- Provide customer service.
- Follow the TCO requirements & standards that apply to each student.
- Teach and adhere to appropriate UND standardization manual.
- Maintain pilot proficiency.
- Display professionalism.
- Accurate record keeping.
- Adhere & promote the Safety Management System (SMS). The new employee training will start on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
Qualified candidates are required to appear in person for interviewing and prehire testing.

- Ability to work the a varying schedule.
Minimum Requirements
- Hold, or actively working on, a Bachelor's Degree in Aviation, or related field.
- Commercial Pilot Certificate single-engine & instrument Rating - Airplane.
- Certified Flight Instructor Certificate - single-engine.
- Valid FAA Medical Certificate.
- Experience as a student or flight instructor in a Part 141 training program.
- Eligible to work within the U.S.
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Flight Instructor - Instrument Airplane.
- G1000 experience.
