Purpose of Position

This position provides content expertise insight and instructional support and for the UND Histotechnician Program.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary instructor for HT 360-Histopathology Laboratory Theory (a 3-credit, online, asynchronous course offered in each of the fall, spring, and summer semesters), specifically:
    • Maintain and update course materials in accordance with programmatic curricular guidelines
    • Monitor and provide feedback related to student progress
    • Evaluate and provide accurate and timely feedback for student work
    • Respond to and communicate with students in a timely and professional manner
    • Conduct continuous quality assessment of the course, in alignment with program assessment processes
    • Determine and report student grades in accordance with policy 
  • Attend and actively participate in HT Program planning and meetings, and the HT Advisory Committee 
  • Complete Continuing Education/Professional Development activities as defined by departmental guidelines

Minimum Requirements   

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Completion of a NAACLS-accredited HT/HTL program
  • ASCP Certification as an HTL
  • 6 months experience as an HT/HTL
  • Successful completion of a criminal history background check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with education technologies such as Blackboard or recording software
  • Experience teaching/training students or employees
  • Familiarity with the UND HT program
