Be a part of cutting-edge research, engage with professionals who share your passion, and create work you can be proud of. As a Senior Accountant, you will contribute to the success of the organization by performing one or more of the following:
- Analyze financial records and reports and adjust as needed.
- Provide financial advice to Foundation treasurer and other officers as appropriate.
- Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements and work with the Director of Business and Finance on implementation.
- Maintain current knowledge of Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and other accounting standards as necessary (e.g.., federal cost accounting standards) with respect to accounting needs of the Foundation.
- Develop and refine general and cost accounting procedures; make recommendations for improvements.
- Record revenue and expense, account reconciliations, and all general ledger transactions to ensure proper accounting treatment.
- Perform tasks specific to Foundation subcontracts: vendor registration, banking information, invoicing, advance payment monitoring, contract and PO changes; generate and submit EERC subcontract invoices, accounts receivable monitoring, etc.
- Support tax and audit processes, provide information, review tax and audit schedules, and follow up on audit recommendations.
- Prepare reports for Finance and Audit Committee and Board meetings.
- Prepare financial reports for the Foundation Treasurer and Director of Finance to review monthly, quarterly, and/or annually as appropriate.
- Maintain electronic filing system for Foundation records.
- Perform accounting duties; generate regular schedules, reports, and other forms of reporting for the Director of Finance, Foundation officers, Foundation Board, auditors, etc.
- Keep the Foundation Treasurer and Director of Finance apprised of any significant accounting concerns.
- Discuss pricing and payment terms with Foundation Officers and apprise Treasurer of payment terms and gain approval when appropriate.
- Record pricing details in proposal database.
- Review and approve Foundation budget prepared by the budget analyst (BA) related to Foundation portion.
- Review and approve cover letter and financial portion of proposal text and edit as necessary.
- Communicate regularly with support personnel involved in proposal activities, including proposal manager, BA, and document production staff.
- Develop Foundation budget as backup for BA, applying markup and G&A.
- Prepare and submit the annual Foundation budget to the Treasurer.
- Monitor Foundation budget, prepare and provide monthly budget report to officers, monitor G&A/profit, and keep Treasurer and Director of Finance apprised of significant deviations.
- Monitor investments, CD maturity dates, and reinvestment in accordance with the Foundation investment policy.
- Perform year-end reallocation of cash according to reallocation policy.
- Complete vendor registrations for EERC contract payments.
- Assist with accountant duties related to Jaggaer and travel approvals.
- Input EERC annual budget and related reconciliations.
- Review and approve various transactions such as journal entries, journal vouchers, fleet vehicles, and surplus property.
- Approve leave as part of the payroll process to ensure segregation of duties.
- Assist with accountant duties related to subcontract monitoring.
- Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a bachelor’s degree with a minor in accounting
- Five years of relevant experience
- Experience with financial audits
- Experience with accounting application
- Cover letter and resume
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
