• $18 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)

Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

The Artificial Intelligence Research (AIR) Center seeks to fill 2 hourly positions to work on a DoD project. This project aims to develop and implement the essential methods, algorithms, and distributed computational workflows necessary for integrating computation directly into a platform-agnostic Arctic environment that addresses computationally and data-intensive geospatial problem-solving challenges inherent to Arctic transformation. The applicants have to be graduate students from Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a closely-related field.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Performing research in the weather prediction field
• Contributing to writing reports and papers
• Developing data prepressing techniques and prediction models
• Preparing presentation slides and posters 

Required Competencies

• Strong English communication skills, both spoken and written
• Strong computer skills (may include experience with a variety of software packages).
• Self-starter, hard-working, passionate regarding research and scientific reporting

Minimum Requirements

• Pursuing a Ph.D. degree in EE, CS, AI, or other related fields
• Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
