Salary/Position Classification

  • $36,000+, dependent on experience, annual, Exempt
  • 40 hours per week
  • This position will work onsite.

Purpose of Position

Under the supervision of the Center Director and Assistant Director, the ECE Services Supervisor II, provides education and care to children 18 months to age 12 and train, mentor, and supervise students from a variety of disciplines at UND.

Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Create and maintain a developmentally appropriate classroom with a co-teacher that supports inclusion, safety, and engagement for all children, including those with special needs.

  • Design and implement educational experiences using ND Early Learning Guidelines and Emergent Curriculum to promote children’s cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and language development.

  • Prepare and maintain a rich, stimulating environment aligned with the Environmental Rating Scale (ERS), CLASS Productivity subscale, and ND licensing standards.

  • Observe, assess, and document children’s growth using Teaching Strategies GOLD, and use assessment data to guide instruction and identify additional supports.

  • Ensure health and safety standards are consistently met through active supervision, classroom routines, hygiene practices, and emergency responsiveness.

  • Communicate regularly with families, offering developmental updates, biannual conferences, and support for referrals and inclusive practices in a respectful and culturally responsive manner.

  • Train, mentor, and supervise student teachers, assistants, volunteers, and foster grandparents, modeling best practices and providing constructive feedback.

  • Collaborate effectively with coworkers, maintaining professional communication, confidentiality, and mutual support in a team-based teaching environment.

  • Engage in continuous professional growth through ongoing training, self-reflection, and participation in early childhood education advocacy and community efforts.

  • Uphold professional and ethical conduct in alignment with UCLC, UND, NAEYC, and DHS expectations in all classroom, workplace, and community interactions.

Required Competencies

  • Computer literate
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Very good oral/written communication skills

Minimum Requirements

  • Associates degree in Early Childhood Education
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
