Purpose of Position
The Video Production Specialist will design, direct, and produce audio and video content for internal and external clients, working closely with subject matter experts and other Aerospace IT staff to publish and disseminate content via a variety of formats and platforms. The work produced by the Video Production Specialist must meet the high standards of UND Aerospace, with great attention to detail and technical accuracy.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Audio/Video Production:
- Assist the senior producer/director with crewing and organizing studio and field shoots.
- Perform in all aspects of field and studio production, including camera operator, audio operator, teleprompter, and lighting assistance.
- Perform in all aspects of the video edit workflow, including culling, naming, and editing.
- Develop and write scripts for audio and video production .
- Act as the lead producer/director on designated projects with oversight from the senior producer/director.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Archive Video:
- Update and maintain video archives as necessary.
- Provide guidance to student workers that may help with archiving efforts.
- Other archiving duties as assigned.
- Documentation and Records:
- Precisely and consistently track and record hours worked on each project.
- Maintain other documentation as necessary for duties and responsibilities outlined above.
Required Competencies
- Computer skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of and ability to operate video cameras, video editing systems, and studio equipment.
- Organizational skills.
- Development of supervisory skills.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Radio/TV Broadcasting, Journalism, Communications, or Video Production.
- Two years’ experience in television/video production or closely related fields.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- A portfolio of work must be provided at or before the interview.
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud software, including Premiere, AfterEffects, and Photoshop.
- Experience with live directing/switching in a production studio.
- Experience as an end-to-end creator, where the applicant managed every stage of the production from concept to publishing.
