Salary/Position Classification

Purpose of Position
Support Wellness & Health Promotion’s safety initiatives by assisting with audits, trainings, and compliance tracking. Help maintain safety supplies, evaluate student staff performance, and ensure readiness through effective communication and use of departmental tools. Promote a safe and healthy environment by modeling best practices and supporting training across the team.
This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with planning, executing, and assessing monthly and mini safety audits.
- Support training and evaluation of student staff in safety procedures, including accident/incident reporting.
- Help develop and lead safety trainings; assist with remedial training as needed.
- Track department CPR/First Aid certifications and support compliance with required university trainings.
- Manage, assess, and restock First Aid room supplies, First Aid kits, AEDs, and fire extinguishers.
- Help maintain the department safety manual and related training materials.
- Use department technology for communication, tracking, and safety oversight.
- Promote a safe, clean environment through PPE use and sanitation tasks.
- Attend required meetings and trainings; demonstrate professional communication.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Computer skills to perform basic office duties.
- Familiarity with general safety and emergency procedures.
- Capability to learn and enforce policies, procedures and processes.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid/AED, or ability to obtain within 2 weeks of hire. (Training provided by the Wellness Center at no cost for employees)
Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.This position does not support visa sponsorship for continued employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification as a CPR/AED and First Aid instructor.
- Prior experience in a customer service environment.
- EMT/EMR certification.
