Salary/Position Classification
- $1700 for Master's or $2000 for Doctorally prepared per credit contract, Exempt
- Hours will vary based on number of credits/classes taught hours per week
- This position will work in person on campus at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND
Purpose of Position
The mission of the College of Nursing & Professional Disciplines (CNPD) is to provide excellent and collaborative education, scholarship, and service to advance human well-being for all, with an emphasis on rural and underserved populations.
The CNPD is comprised of the academic departments of Nursing, Nutrition & Dietetics, and Social Work. Our Nutrition & Dietetics department is seeking a part-time clinical instructor to teach during the spring 2026 semester.
This position will teach in person on campus at the University of North Dakota. No remote or hybrid work arrangements are available.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Teaching responsibilities may vary from semester to semester. For Spring 2026, an instructor is needed to teach N&D 260, Principles of Foods and Food Science. Assignments for future semesters may be offered depending on departmental need.
- The part-time Instructor works closely with the Department Chair to offer student-centered instruction for the assigned Department of Nutrition and Dietetics course(s). These responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following
- Teach and manage assigned course(s)
- Demonstrated mastery of subject matter
- Plan, organize, and teach in ways to maximize student learning, considering the diverse learning student needs
- Develop new assignments or implement new teaching strategies to keep curriculum relevant and progressive
- Be available to meet with students by holding office hours and/or scheduling appointments
- Tutor students in assigned course(s)
- Learn and use technology to enhance the educational experience when appropriate
- Inform and administer assessment instruments, collect and report student learning outcomes data
- Perform in ethical and professional manner at all times
- Complete all UND mandatory training and/or forms
Required Competencies

- Ability to work collaboratively with fellow faculty members, program directors and students
Minimum Requirements
- Master's degree in human nutrition or closely related field that must include 18 graduate credit hours in human nutrition/nutritional science or dietetics. If graduate degree is not in human nutrition, a bachelor's degree in human nutrition or dietetics is required.
- RDN, CNS, Licensed Nutritionist OR 2 years of full-time professional experience
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
