Salary/Position Classification

• $20.00 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
• 20-40 hours per week
• 100% Remote Work Availability: No
• Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): No

Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of clients and partners of the Test Site by supporting safe flight operations and providing safety guidance to the teams operating in the field.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety paperwork.
• Assist in ensuring required crewmembers are properly trained on safety protocols and hazard mitigation strategies.
• Participate in safety meetings and provide input on continuous safety improvement initiatives.
• Maintain confidentiality of classified information and a professional appearance and attitude.
• Work will require frequent travel.
• Responsible for all other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Requirements

• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Willingness and ability to travel, as required
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends, as required
• Export Control Compliance: This position requires compliance with U.S. government export control laws and regulations. Applicants are required to be eligible for employment under U.S. export control laws and must meet the requirement of being a “U.S. Person” (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C.1324b (a)(3)).
  
  
• Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. This position does not support visa sponsorship for continued employment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Possess an FAA Private Pilot License and/or FAA Remote Pilot License
• Experience with Part 107 operations
• Experience with Remote Control (RC) aircraft
• Experience with UAS flight operations and safety risk management
• Knowledge of FAA regulations related to unmanned aircraft systems
• Good technical writing skills or experience in drafting safety documentation
