Salary/Position Classification

• $15 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
• 20 hours per week
• 100% Remote Work Availability: No
• Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): No

Purpose of Position

The purpose of this position is to assist faculty members with preserving, documenting, and/or digitizing materials related to ongoing research or service projects, especially related to tribal communities within the region.

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Help with the preservation of archival or faculty research materials.
• Assist with the creation and/or building of digital humanities collections.
• Create/update technical documentation related to digital humanities collections. 

Required Competencies

• Ability to digitize archival materials, particularly print and photos
• Ability to interact positively and communicate effectively
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and track tasks to meet objectives as they relate to position duties
• Ability to work efficiently and independently

Minimum Requirements

• Graduate student in English
• Experience using Digital Humanities methods/tools
• Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of the tribes within the geographical boundaries of North Dakota and the surrounding region
• Familiarity with creating metadata
• Experience in managing culturally sensitive data and ethical conduct of research to protect Indigenous data sovereignty
