Purpose of Position
The purpose of this position is to assist faculty members with preserving, documenting, and/or digitizing materials related to ongoing research or service projects, especially related to tribal communities within the region.
This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Help with the preservation of archival or faculty research materials.
- Assist with the creation and/or building of digital humanities collections.
- Create/update technical documentation related to digital humanities collections.
Required Competencies
- Ability to digitize archival materials, particularly print and photos
- Ability to interact positively and communicate effectively
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and track tasks to meet objectives as they relate to position duties
- Ability to work efficiently and independently
Minimum Requirements
- Graduate student in English
- Experience using Digital Humanities methods/tools
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of the tribes within the geographical boundaries of North Dakota and the surrounding region
- Familiarity with creating metadata
- Experience in managing culturally sensitive data and ethical conduct of research to protect Indigenous data sovereignty
