Purpose of Position
- This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare, revise, and maintain 2D AutoCAD drawings for the drying system, including process flow and piping diagrams, general arrangement drawings, and equipment layouts.
- Check and correct existing drawings for dimensional, annotation, and standards accuracy.
- Participate in weekly project design meetings and contribute to design decisions, alternatives, and sizing discussions.
- Maintain drawing registers and revision control.
- Prepare drawing figures for inclusion in technical reports and publications.
- Other related design support tasks as assigned by the PI.
Minimum Requirements
- Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD 2D drafting. Completed coursework or documented work experience in engineering drawing or CAD
- Ability to read, interpret, and produce engineering drawings, including piping and instrumentation diagrams.
- Working understanding of mechanical and piping systems and of standard drafting conventions and title block practice.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and incorporate review comments.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
- Current UND student in good standing, enrolled in an engineering program; graduate standing preferred.
- Applicants who hold another UND appointment must be able to keep total combined hours at or below 20 per week during the academic year.
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
