Purpose of Position
This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position. Position is off campus. You will be going to Valley Middle School and Grand Forks Central High School for tutoring.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Complete a 1-hour foundational training in methodologies
- Tutor high school and middle school students by helping them prepare for college by teaching them study and organizational skills.
- Engages in ongoing professional development sessions to deepen understanding of tutoring strategies and best practices.
- Delivers individualized and group academic assistance tailored to students’ needs.
- Demonstrates academic excellence, professionalism, and a growth mindset.
- Utilizes AVID strategies to foster critical thinking, inquiry, and collaborative learning.
- Prepares materials and guides discussions to ensure productive and focused academic support.

Minimum Requirements
- Candidate is responsible for their own transportaion to off campus location.
- Must have accepted a Federal Work Study award from the Office of student Finance.
- Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits for the employed academic semester
- Minimum of 2.5 cumulative GPA
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
