Purpose of Position

Be a part of cutting-edge research, engage with professionals who share your passion, and create work you can be proud of. As a Distinguished Oil & Gas Engineer, you will contribute to the success of the organization by performing one or more of the following:

• Work with project teams and EERC clients to inform strategies and implement solutions that enable prudent and economic production and use of fossil and renewable energy, reduce the carbon intensity of energy production, and assist stakeholders in understanding the economic implications of various pathways.  
• Work in collaboration with EERC subject matter experts, leadership, and clients to prepare proposals and budgets and to develop, pursue, and execute business opportunities that are responsive to client interests. 
• Assist project managers by working with project teams to ensure work is successfully completed on time, on budget, and within client expectations.
• Effectively and professionally communicate progress and status and participate in knowledge-sharing with stakeholders, including partaking in or leading in-person meetings, web meetings, conference calls, and presentations to stakeholders, and attending or presenting at conferences. 
• Prepare briefings, technical reports, conference papers, peer-reviewed journal articles, and outreach materials. Communicate technical results to clients, stakeholders, the public, and the scientific community.
• Significant travel may be required.

Minimum Requirements

• Advanced degree in petroleum engineering, geological engineering, geophysics, geology or closely related field
• 15+ years of experience in oil and gas exploration and production (E&P) operations
• 10+ years oilfield operations management/supervisory experience
• Enhanced oil recovery (EOR) experience with a focus on planning and design of upstream oil and gas E&P projects
• Experience in task management to include planning, oversight, coordination, project status, and reporting and budget analysis
• Cover letter outlining how your qualifications and experience meet the requirements of the position and highlighting relevant experience in the field.
• Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications

• 20+ years of work experience related to oil and gas production.
• 10+ years of experience in a management role. 
• Experience conducting reservoir engineering exercises, including reservoir history matching and/or dynamic simulation of enhanced oil recovery (EOR)
• Experience with advanced subsurface reservoir characterization and resource assessment methodologies and technologies, including the use of industry-standard reservoir engineering software packages such as Petrel, Kingdom, and Petra, or other industry-standard reservoir engineering software packages.  
• Experience with conducting geophysics work (for example, 3D seismic interpretation) to support reservoir engineering workflows, including reservoir property prediction and/or well placement.
• Experience with planning, design, costing, execution and evaluation of E&P operations focused on enhanced oil recovery.
• Experience securing external funding for research.
• Experience with chemical treatment design, optimization, and troubleshooting for oil and gas operations.
• Experience in oil and gas production optimization and troubleshooting.
