Training and Impact Coordinator Harrisonburg
James Madison University's (JMU) Educate, Equip and Empower (E3) Training Academy is accepting applications for a Training and Impact Coordinator to support the program. The E3 Training Academy aims to cross-train master’s level scholars in special education, applied behavior analysis and adapted physical education to ensure students with high-intensity needs thrive in all educational and community-based experiences. Scholars will demonstrate competency in creating school and community-based programs, assessing all learning domains, developing individualized plans, teaching using evidence-based practices (EBPs), and evaluating instructional effectiveness (PAPTE). The Academy is a collaborative effort with city and county school divisions, JMU’s Empowerment3 Center, members of the Shenandoah Valley Inclusive Wellness Coalition, key stakeholders, including students with intellectual & developmental disabilities and caregivers. Project Aims (across the five-year span of the project) 1. Recruit, mentor, retain, and graduate at least 20 highly qualified (HQ) OSEP scholars across special education, applied behavior analysis, and adapted physical education. 2. Provide teaching and mentorship opportunities for OSEP scholars to gain competency working with students with disabilities who have high intensity needs. 3. Implement the Achievement Based Curriculum model by infusing evidence-based practices into courses, apprenticeship, interdisciplinary learning series, mentorship, research, and PD opportunities.

Library Services Supervisor (Part-Time) Harrisonburg
James Madison University’s Libraries is seeking a part-time Supervisor to join the Library & Information Services (LIS) team in the Access & User Services department. The successful candidate will join a team dedicated to offering high-quality services to JMU and the local community. The position will help staff our physical Ask the Library service points and support virtual services during morning hours. This position works to maintain a shared standard of service at all library service points and operating hours, as well as respond effectively to diverse user needs. This position also helps support the student and full-time employees in LIS. This is a part-time wage position with no benefits, working an average of 25 hours per week. Normal work shifts for this position will align with opening operations for our buildings. When classes are in session, a typical schedule would be Tuesday-Friday 7AM-12PM & Saturday 9AM-2PM. During Final Exams, summer, and intersession periods, work hours will shift earlier or later in alignment with operating hours. Therefore, some flexibility with work schedules is necessary to reflect the shifts in operations. Shifts will occur primarily in both Rose Library and the JMU Libraries Express service locations. The Center for Assessment and Research Studies (CARS) and the Department of Graduate Psychology at James Madison University (JMU) invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant/Associate Assessment Specialist and Assistant/Associate Professor position in Assessment & Measurement. This position is a year-round (12-month) appointment. The role will contribute to campus assessment activities and to the Assessment and Measurement PhD program, which is dedicated to preparing professionals in assessment and measurement. CARS integrates assessment, educational research, and graduate student training. CARS faculty work with interdisciplinary teams of JMU faculty and staff on a variety of projects related to the assessment and improvement of learning and developmental outcomes of university students. CARS faculty consult with campus programs on all phases of the assessment cycle, including the development of assessments and assessment plans, assist with the analysis of data and reporting of results, and provide guidance in the use of results for learning improvement. JMU is committed to student outcomes assessment and provides a unique, supportive setting for the development of innovative assessment practices. JMU has received an unprecedented twelve national awards for student learning outcomes assessment practice. The Assessment & Measurement PhD program integrates strong training in measurement theory and quantitative methods, applied assessment skills and experiences, and the knowledge and skills necessary to influence assessment practice and policies. The doctoral program is housed with other nationally recognized graduate programs in the Department of Graduate Psychology. CARS faculty members teach courses in assessment, measurement, or statistics, mentor graduate students, and conduct scholarly research.
