| The Network Engineer is responsible for engineering, implementing, and delivering network solutions that align with approved architectural standards and institutional security requirements for the University of North Texas System. This role focuses on translating approved designs into production-ready solutions, executing complex and non-standard changes, and serving as an escalation point for operational issues that require engineering intervention.
The position operates within a lifecycle-based model in which Architecture defines standards and designs, Engineering builds and integrates solutions, and Operations sustains production services. The Network Engineer is expected to incorporate security considerations into all engineering activities, including firewall policy, segmentation, access controls, and secure service integration, while operating under architectural governance and in coordination with Information Security. |
