Essential duties:

  • Function as the primary customer service point of contact for the students, University personnel, and other relevant publics interacting with the Department of Graduate Psychology.
  • Coordinate academic operations with other university departments or personnel as needed for effective operations and alignment with relevant accreditation, state, or institutional policies or requirements.
  • Maintain program records, accreditation reporting items, and databases as assigned by the Department Chair, Program Director(s) and/or Dean.
  • Provide administrative and clerical support to Graduate Psychology programs as assigned by the Chair/ Program Directors.
  • Act as the Continuing Education Compliance Manager for the School of Psychology and Counseling.
  • Assist External Practicum Coordinator (EPC) with paperwork and administrative duties related to clinical placement experiences within the Department of Graduate Psychology.
  • Coordinate hiring of department graduate assistants (GAs), teaching and research assistants (TA/TRA).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, M.A. in a relevant field preferred
  • Prior experience in higher education administration and/or professional/educational administration
  • Proficient in standard software programs used for administrative services, such as the MS Office suite, and have aptitude for learning software packages specific to higher education such as Banner, Canvas, Cognos, and Degree Works is preferred.
  • Be able to interact well with relevant parties, including students, staff, faculty, and the public; strong interpersonal skills are needed to be successful in this role
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision while knowing when consultation is needed, be self-motivated, and have excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Maintain confidentiality using strict discretion with program information
