At TAFE NSW, we are dedicated to life-changing impact.

That’s why we offer world-class training and education that delivers the skills needed for the jobs of today and tomorrow.

The TAFE NSW Manufacturing Centres of Excellence (MCoE), are National Centres of Excellence, a joint initiative between the Australian Government and NSW Government under the National Skills Agreement.

MCoEs are an innovative education model to tackle the manufacturing skills challenge for NSW and Australia. Located in Western Sydney, the Hunter, and the Illawarra, each centre specialises in different areas. These include advanced manufacturing with robotics and 3D printing, supporting clean energy in net zero manufacturing and sustainable manufacturing practices, supporting the heavy manufacturing industry, and supporting new and existing workforce build the skills they need for the future.

By partnering with other CoEs, TAFES, universities, and industry, these nationally networked centres ensure training aligns with real-world job requirements. The MCoEs offer short courses, microskills, and will soon deliver higher apprenticeships to help individuals become job-ready or enhance their skills for future opportunities.

About the role

This role is responsible for leading the design, execution, and continuous improvement of targeted initiatives that actively increase the participation of women and gender-diverse students in trade-based education. It plays a central role in delivering measurable outcomes that align with TAFE NSW’s strategic commitment to enhancing gender diversity across trades and other non-traditional skill areas.

The position requires a hands-on approach to stakeholder engagement, working closely with a broad and complex network of partners including industry bodies, government agencies, schools, community organisations, and internal TAFE NSW teams. Through these collaborations, the role drives the co-design and implementation of inclusive strategies that remove barriers and create clear, supported pathways for underrepresented learners.

Innovation is a key focus, with the role expected to identify, apply, and scale effective practices that improve access, participation, and success for women and gender-diverse students. This includes staying informed of emerging trends, evaluating program impact, and adapting approaches to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with organisational goals.

A critical component of the role involves promoting and representing the MCoE (Manufacturing Centre of Excellence) across New South Wales. The successful candidate must be willing and able to travel statewide, including regular visits to the three MCoE campuses located in Newcastle, Wetherill Park, and Wollongong, to support outreach, engagement, and program delivery efforts.
